Orchestrated by the lively lovely biologist and networker Potira Preiss with a wide experience in setting up meaningful youth gatherings within the framework of the Social Forum, the Porto Alegre EDE is hosted by three respectful institutions in their fields

• the Buddhist Community – Instituto Caminho do Meio
• Environmental NGO Friends of the Earth Porto Alegre
• NORIE Department of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul

During the week the programme takes place in the retrofitted historic building Solar Conde de Porto Alegre, headquarters of the Institute of Architects of Brazil. At the weekend the students retreat to the Buddhist community where they have their practical sessions and design studio.  With 35 fully engaged participants  (including many architects…) the EDE Porto Alegre is the first programme already pioneering aspects of Version 5 of the Curriculum-with the modules Social Networks  & Methodologies.
